Grammar: Definition ,Types With Important Example

Grammar :

Grammar is the measurements of the language. Grammar can only tell you whether the language is correctly spoken or not. We can also say Grammar is the main key of English Language because without Grammar nobody will able to talk English Language or written.

For Example, if a person trying to talk the English language without Grammar then he talk like that I a teacher if you connect this sentence to grammar then it will be I am a teacher that’s the difference.

There are two parts of Grammar Word as Shown in the above picture.

  Gram +Ar

Gram Definition

We all know Gram means kilo-gram, Hector-Gram, Milli-gram.

Ar Definition

Ar means Doer.

For example :
A person who drives a car is called Driver. Here Driver is Doer.

So Let’s Get The Definition Of Grammar :

The word Grammar comes from Greek, Which means Craft of letters, which is an apt description. Grammar is the basic role of the English Language through which a person can easily talk English Without Any Problems. If a person doesn’t follow Grammar role then he will not be able to talk English perfectly. We can also say key Function of English.

3 Future Tenses


Present tense :

Present means a signal of an action which we are currently doing.
There are four types of Tenses in the present tense
1) Present indefinite
2 ) Present Continuous Tense
3)Present Perfect Tense
4) Present Perfect Continuous Tense

Past Tense:

Past tense means a signal of an action which we were done last.
There are Four Types Of  Past Tenses
1 Past Indefinite or Simple Past Tense
2 Past Continuous Tense
3 Past Perfect Tense
4 Past Perfect Continuous Tense

Future Tense :

Future Tense means a signal of an action which we will do in upcoming day or
future .
There are Four Types Of Future Tenses :
1 Future Indefinite Tense
2 Future Continuous Tense
3 Future Perfect Tense
4 Future Perfect Continuous Tense
Another Important Function Of Grammar Is Sentence :
Kinds Of Sentence :
      1. Assertive Sentence.
      2. Imperative sentence.
      3. Interrogative Sentence.
      4. Optative Sentence .
      5. Exclamatory Sentence.

God is good .

Man is mortal.

Pune is a metro city.

In the above sentences expresses or states an incident, a statement of fact. The sentence which describes an incident is called Assertive or Declarative Sentences. An assertive sentence is called a statement.


Salute the national flag.

Be kind to the poor.

Don’t waste your time.

The above sentences express advice, an order, a request or a proposal. The sentence which expresses an order, a request, advice or a proposal is called Imperative sentence.


Are you happy?

Can you speak Assamese?

Do you like coffee?

Each of the above sentences asked a  question. A sentence which asked a question is called an interrogative sentence.


May God bless you.

May you pass the examination.

May you live long.

Each of the above sentences expresses a wish, a desire, a prayer or a blessing. The sentence which express a wish, desire, prayer or blessings is called Operative Sentence.


How kind God is!

What a lovely picture!

How lovely is the Rose. !

Each of the above sentences expresses the speaker’s emotion or feeling, sudden, joy or wonder. Such a sentence is called an Exclamatory Sentence.
